A dermatologist is a medical specialist who has 5 years of working experience in general medicine and after which, undergoes at least three more years of intensive specialist medical and surgical training in dermatology.
Dermatology training focuses on the skin, hair, nails and mucous membranes. A dermatologist must complete this training and pass the necessary examinations before he/she is given accreditation by the Specialist's Board of the Singapore Medical Council.
